When Patricia first joined Pfizer Canada, she brought with her a strength and a deep-rooted passion for helping others. What she didn’t expect was how profoundly her volunteer journey would grow — both within the company and far beyond it.

“I’ve been volunteering since I was a teenager,”  Patricia shares. “My first job had me delivering food baskets across Montreal. I remember the smiles — theirs and mine. That feeling of making someone’s day just a little brighter stuck with me.”

Over the years, Patricia’s commitment to community service only deepened, finding joy in every act of kindness. “Volunteering gives me a sense of pride and purpose,” she says. “It connects us — to each other and to something bigger.”
That sense of connection is what drew her to West Island Mission , a local organization that supports families facing food insecurity in the West Island of Montreal. Through Pfizer’s volunteer program, Patricia discovered a place where compassion meets action.

“West Island Mission doesn’t just hand out food,” she explains. “They listen. They care. They help people find the resources they need to move forward. It’s not charity — it’s community.”

Patricia quickly became a familiar face at West Island Mission events — her warmth, reliability, and joy made her a cherished member of the team. And as she prepares to retire this summer, her commitment is only growing stronger.

“I may be retiring from Pfizer, but I’m not retiring from volunteering,” she laughs. “If anything, I’ll have more time to give. I’m excited to continue working with West Island Mission and other organizations that are close to my heart.”
At Pfizer Canada, we’re proud to support employees like Patricia who embody our values through action. Her story is a powerful reminder that giving back isn’t just something we do — it’s something we live.

“I am so grateful to have been part of Pfizer Canada’s commitment to the surrounding communities. They empower us stay involved in activities that make a difference in people’s lives and make us proud as citizens.”

As Patricia steps into this next chapter, we celebrate her legacy of kindness, community, and unwavering compassion.

Thank you, Patricia, for showing us what it means to lead with heart. Wishing you a joyful and fulfilling retirement — and many more smiles along the way.
