On February 8, 2021, Health Canada authorized an update to the label for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. The updated label states that after dilution, one vial contains six doses of 0.3 mL of vaccine.
In a situation of limited vaccine supply amidst a public health crisis, this label change is intended to provide clarity to healthcare providers, minimize vaccine wastage, and enable the most efficient use of the vaccine in order to protect more of the eligible Canadian population.
Since the launch of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in December, Pfizer Canada has been committed to supporting public health efforts to successfully administer the vaccine. That support will continue as we provide ongoing assistance necessary to make this transition.
