Health Partners International Canada

At Pfizer, we support international humanitarian missions and disaster relief efforts through our partnership with Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC). A Canadian registered charity, HPIC is dedicated to increasing access to medicine and improving health for the most vulnerable people in the developing world. Pfizer Canada has been a key partner to help deliver HEALTH and HOPE to vulnerable communities around the world by providing HPIC with the equivalent of over $75 million* in product donations since 1994.

In 2018, from Bangladesh to Zimbabwe, HPIC’s partnership with Pfizer helped communities in more than 38 countries. In response to Canadian physician requests for international aid missions, close to 500 humanitarian kits containing Pfizer products were shipped around the world; top countries being the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Iraq. Pfizer was also a key contributor to larger HPIC projects in Ghana, Haiti, Honduras, Malawi and Swaziland. The top three Pfizer product categories donated were vitamins, oral and injectable antibiotics. In 2018, we estimated that some 140,000 lives were touched by donated Pfizer products.

HPIC equips medical mission teams, stocks clinics and hospitals in impoverished communities, mobilizes medical relief during emergencies and builds local capacity. At Pfizer Canada, we are proud to support this organization through our strategy of empowering health at every stage of life.
